June 2019 Newsletter
Summer is here and everyone is busy with different activities; I want to remind you that the church will continue to be in operation all Summer. Some people seem to think that the church takes a vacation. But no, we do not! God is always around and He is here for you no matter what is going on in your life. God will not forget you or turn His back on you.
During June, we will be observing on Sunday, June 2, Holy Communion and the Ascension of our Lord; Sunday, June 9, Pentecost Sunday, the Day that the Holy Spirit of God descended upon all of those who had been praying and waiting and equipped them to be the body of Christ in the world. They prayed for unity and to be in one accord in their love for Jesus.
Then the next Sunday, June 16 is Father’s Day, a day set aside to recognize and to honor our Fathers who are to be the one set aside in the family to show the children the love of God. Fathers are very important as a representative of God’s love, and they are also important to the life of the church.
Then on the fifth Sunday, June 30, we will have a combined service at 10 a.m. in the Christian Life Center, where we will again this year have a picnic style service with a cookout of hamburgers and hotdogs afterwards. The service will be patriotic and Big Blessings, singing group from George County, will lead us in worship and praise to God in the service.
Make your plans to come and be a part of our services each week during our summer season. I want to encourage you as a part of our church family to be in prayer for the church to be in God’s will as we move forward being the church that loves Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
In His Service, Bro. Larry
